Speak
Hold the microphone and talk. Innerstory transcribes it on the device using Apple's speech recognition, and keeps both the recording and the words.
Photograph
Photograph a page of a paper notebook and it reads the handwriting — so the notebook you already keep becomes searchable without being retyped.
It remembers for you
Your own sentence, handed back.
Innerstory quietly notices when something you wrote today connects to something you wrote months ago, and shows you the earlier passage — the words you actually typed, with the date. Nothing more.
It does not score your mood. It does not tell you that you are anxious, or catastrophising, or improving.
Showing you your own sentence and letting you draw the conclusion is the entire product.
Built to be private, not marketed as private
The claims, and what backs them.
- Every entry, recording and photograph is encrypted with AES-256 on the device.
- The key is generated on your iPhone, lives in its keychain, and never leaves it.
- Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode is required every time the app opens.
- The app-switcher card shows the app's name, never your writing.
- Photographs are stripped of location and camera data before they are stored.
- No analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifier, no third-party code of any kind.

One honest warning
Because nothing is uploaded, there is no backup.
The export in Settings writes your entries as plain text you can keep anywhere you like, and it is your only copy. Use it. We would rather say this on the front page than in a support article after the fact.
